Hi all,

The catalan team prefers kit-based translation. We think that file localization can be added to new comment field box, futhermore the search will be a good improvement.

Best regards,

Robert

I will be discussing your feedback with the CTI team and stress theseverity of the need for a search function.

There is already a request filed for a search function, let me find outthe timeline for its implementation. [1]

Thank you again for your feedback, and for bearing with us.

Jake Jackson wrote: Hello Petra, nice idea and great job, but I have to admit, that now the work withCTI is more worse then before. For an initial translation this new approach with kits seems to besomewhat feasible, but in case we're going to bug fixing phases(removing incosistent translations, typos, etc.) we have a problem! As everybody know, there's no chance to search for particular stringsinside CTI, even if it is one of the most important features whiletranslating. Before the re-structuring we were able to use a trick tofind a string (or better the file containing that string). Therefore we had to set NB to a debug mode which prints out the file(including the directory) containing the string. With this file namewe were able to jump more or less directly to the correct module. For example the string "New project" in menu "File" gives followingoutput: "org/netbeans/modules/project/ui/actions/Bundle.properties".So here, we have the file and now we were able to search for thatstring in the affected module on CTI, open the according file and stepthrough it to find the error. That's not possible any more, becausethere are no files to see any more, but only those kits. And openingkit, displays ALL strings. So it's quite hard to search formis-spelled strings, typos, inconsitencies and so on.It's a matter of time. Most of us are just volunteers and we spend oneor two hours a day (some more, some less) for translating. There's notime at all, to crawl through the e.g. 467!!! pages of ide.kit just tofix a typo.I think, I'll switch back to OmegaT for the next version, even if Idon't like all that integration stuff with HG, but with OT I'll bemuch faster, unless CTI-team will increase the feature listdramatical.Best regardsJ..eOn Fri, Aug 7, 2009 at 12:35 PM, Petra Stastna<[email protected]> wrote: Dear all,Projects have been restarted:Now there are only three projects in CTI for NB, but the same amount offiles:NetBeans_6.7_properties_platform includes all platform files (merged into one kit)languages: Albanian, Arabic, Chinese (Traditional), Czech, Indonesian,Polish, Russian NetBeans_6.7_properties_platform_javase includes all platform files (merged into one kit)includes all Java SE modules (property files), merged into kits:apisupport.kit, ide.ki, installer.ki, java.ki, nb.kit, nbi.kit,platform.kit, profiler.kit, websvccomon.kitlanguages: Catalan, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Korean, Spanish,Swedish, Turkish NetBeans_6.7_msghtml_javase includes all msghtml Java SE fileslanguages: Catalan, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Korean, Spanish,Swedish, Turkish As I said before, until mid of September, we will be picking up the filesfor building upon your request. Please let us know once you have finished some part, we will pickup andrequest a build.Thank you! :-)PetraPetra Stastna (Nicky) wrote:Dear all,I am going to complete all NB CTI projects today and restart them. This is because we are going to use a different file structure (e.g. alljavase_installer files will be merged into one file which you can access). It will enable us faster project creation and picking up of files.Projects should be restarted still within today.Thank you,Petra---------------------------------------------------------------------To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] additional commands, e-mail: [email protected] ---------------------------------------------------------------------To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
