Too bright?

I brought up NB under 1.5 and had to wear sunglasses.

I know this isn't a NB thing, but a Swing thing, but still.
Everything is so white it reminds me of the color-schemes specifically
desigend for laptops. 

The pastels of the buttons glyphs get washed out in all this brightness

Is it just me who's finding al this too bright?
