If we had a VI editor and and Emacs editor emulation available, we could use the 
expected shortcuts which those editors provide.

It's amazing how much power is in those editors and which we (programmers 
collectively) choose to discard by taking the easy way out of using the simple 
cut and paste editor, and then reimplementing these features with new interfaces 
that only serve to add confusing and learning cycles...
