Re: improve splash screen

I think I can contribute with some information.
As far as I know, the KDE splash screen has a simple but powerfull idea:

You provide 3 images, one for the center and two for the botton. By the time
KDE is loading, one botton image is substituted by another, from left to
right. So, when you see the icons changing, it is really a trick with only
two images.

Using this technique is easy to use either icons or a progress bar. That
would be interesting for applications built on top of the NetBeans platform
also.
