Hallo en welkom op de homepagina van NetBeans, de Open Source Java IDE.
<h3>Wat is NetBeans?</h3>
NetBeans is een succesvol open source project met een zeer grote gebruikers
basis, een groeiende gemeenschap, en dicht bij de 100 (nog steeds toenemend!)
partners wereldwijd. Sun Microsystems richtte het NetBeans open source
project op in juni 2000 en blijft nog steeds de hoofdsponsor van dit project.
<p>Hedendaags bestaan de volgende twee producten: De NetBeans IDE en het NetBeans Platform.
<p>De <a href="http://www.netbeans.org/products/ide/index.html">NetBeans IDE</a>
is een ontwikkelings omgeving - een hulpmiddel voor programmeurs om programma's te
schrijven, compileren, debuggen en implementeren. Het is geschreven in Java, maar
ondersteund eender welke programmeertaal. Er is ook een groot aantal modules
beschikbaar om de NetBeans IDE uit te breiden. De NetBeans IDE is een gratis
product met geen beperkingen over hoe het kan gebruikt worden.
<p>Ook beschikbaar is het <a href="http://www.netbeans.org/products/platform/index.html">NetBeans Platform</a>;
een modulaire en uitbreidbare basis dat dient als een software ruggegraat voor
de ontwikkeling van grote desktop applicaties. ISV partners voorzien meerwaarde
plug-ins die gemakkelijk integreren in het Platform en die ook kunnen gebruikt worden
om hun eigen tools en oplossingen te ontwikkelen.</p>
<P>Beide producten zijn open source en vrij voor commercieel en niet commercieel gebruik.
De broncode is beschikbaar voor hergebruik onder de
<a href="http://www.netbeans.org/about/legal/spl.html">Sun Public License</a>
(SPL).</p>
<h3>Wat is netbeans.org?</h3>
netbeans.org is thuis van de NetBeans open source gemeenschap die is
toegewijd tot het maken van een wereldklasse IDE. netbeans.org laat
gebruikers van over 160 landen in de wereld toe om toegang te
verkrijgen tot de resources en de mensen betrokken bij NetBeans.
