Hi all,
as some of you may already know, the JDK has changed it's numbering scheme from 1.x [1] in order to switch from a feature release mode to a time release mode, so in the future, there will be release 9.1, 9.2, etc [2].

In order to follow that scheme, the version corresponding to Java 9 was changed from Opcodes.V1_9 to Opcodes.V9,
so by example, the Minimal Value Type proposal [3] which is currently targeted to march 2018 will use the version Opcodes.V9_1 to follow the new JDK convention.

We hope that this change will be the only change which is not compatible between ASM6 BETA and the final ASM6 that should be released at the end of this month.

Rémi,
for the ASM team.
