I've already started on getting the Velocity support ready, based on
some code that Victor wrote a year or three back. However realistically
it could be a while before I get the time to finish cleaning it up so
Mike if you do have time this week then drop me a line and I'll send
through what I have so far. Also note that this code doesn't solve
SIM-18, so maybe you could look at that one first?

Joe Walnes wsa talking about writing a JFlexParser. This has the
potential to be a LOT faster than the current FastPageParser, so I'm
quite looking forward to seeing this. Failing a JFlexParser, then I've
also got some ideas to make FastPageParser maybe 2-3x faster still, plus
almost completely eliminate all the (currently quite large) temporary
memory useage while parsing. This will take a lot of work however (it'll
be bordering on a complete rewrite) so I'm a bit reluctant to start that
until we know how fast/efficient the JFlexParser implementation will be.

One final thing we should look into. Lately I've seen quite a few posts
on various mailing lists and blogs by people stating that they prefer
Tiles over Sitemesh. Does anyone know what Tiles can do that Sitemesh
can't. Struts integration? (whatever that might mean). Perhaps it just
comes down to a lack of documentation? We should try to find out where
the (perceived?) problems are and address them with code and/or docs.
