Release 0.7.7-alpha-1 Startup Issue

Hi,

This release may have some startup issues.

1.   I can create the tables successfully.  At least I got a success  
message at the end of the process.
2.  Corrected a missing double quote at the end of the setenv.sh script.
3.  I then ran the startup script and immediately get :

It just hangs there, no log messages or exceptions.  I'm expecting to  
see a "listening on port whatever" kind of message.  Not sure what's  
going on.
I tried running it earlier on  a Linux box with the same results.   
The output above is from MacOSX Tiger.

Hope to be able to get past this and begin exploring this new version!
