Terrific! I did not have enough time to do it but it was deadly simple code. I'll vote for @Single, @Cached is IMO confusing. Guice calls these Singletons. They are not of course, that are "single managed instances". We've always just marked them as 'cached'. Sorry Erik to beating you to this. I know you had a patch soon.
