How to modify the Scarab website nowadays (something changed..)

Hi;

i just realised, that the Scarab administration environment on the tigris
site has changed (improved?) 
significantly. But that makes me think about where to modify the website:

in former times we modified www/index.html and after checkin the content
magically 
appeared on the scarab website.

Today we can modify the texts directly online in the admin-environment. But
will the 
repository be automatically updated ?

Anybody knows whqat to do best ? (forget www/index.html or not ?)
