hi;
I plan to add some features to Scarab within the next 2 months.
If the anticipated project will be acknowledged, the schedule
will already be quite tight, hence i might want to ask for some
active help from the Scarab developer comunity. So are there
developers out in the comunity, who are potentially interested
in working on base of a (not so well payed, but at least payed)
project? BTW, i plan to feed back the whole functionality to the
Scarab project:
The 3 major function blocks are:
1.) adding field based visibility permissions
so that user can see fields in dependency of the active role
I need that, because i want specific roles to only see a very
limited subset of an issue.
As a side effect it might be necessary to allow a user with several
roles to choose the active role, instead of simply smashing all role
permissions together to one merged permission set...
2.) adding custom views
so that scarab layout can be massively adapted to individual (project)
needs. My dream was always to add an XML api to Scarab, so that it
spills out XML files, instead of rendered HTML. Then it could work
well as a backend application, e.g. in combination with cocoon, or
just simple xslt on the fly (browser based)...
Maybe it makes sense to use/enhance RSS instead of adding just
another velocity layer ...
3.) Prettify Standard Scarab layout. I have published a possible fresh
looking Layout more than a year ago on this list, but lost track of
it since then. The designer will do some work for me anyways, so we
have the oportunity to get this done "en passent" too. Well, if
position 2 gets good results, we might put the layout effort into the
production of xslt rules iunstead of velocity...
So, any appetite wakened ?
Waiting for your knocking on the door ;-)
