Firebird (also Jira importing)

I have patched scarab .21 to run again the latest version of the 
Firebird RDBMS (2.1).  We are trying it out to replace our Jira 
bugtracker on crosswire.org.  You can see the system running at

If you would like my patches to get things running on Firebird, please 
let me know.

Also, I've had trouble importing from Jira.  I've not found any 
straightforward menu choices or documentation that work.  I've done a 
complete jira database export to xml and tried to import it (before and 
after creating all the project modules) and get an xml parsing error. 
The turbine logs show a null pointer exception.  Maybe I'm just 
importing the wrong thing, or am neglecting more preparatory steps.  Any 
help would be greatly appreciated.
