Learn the scarab schema then. I did almost the same thing a few years 
back (also with oracle). But be aware of the java-side caching.
I also wrote custom plsql procedures to generate reports on scarab 
activity. All in all once you know the schema i think you'll be happy.
Be aware though you come more under scarab developer than user and 
generally will be on your own.
