Removal of notifications

Hi there,

1. Is it true that the notification shown at the Notifications web page will
be removed once the email notification has been sent?

2. If the above is true and I've also diabled sending the email for the
module, does it mean that individual users have to manually delete the
notifications shown at the Notifications web page?
