SISC 1.8.1-alpha is now released at the website. Its been a long time
since the last release, but for good reason. The new additions to the
1.8 series are numerous. Please help test, as we should be entering the
feature freeze at the next release.

  * Improved s2j proxy mechanism.
  * Redesigned handling of configuration parameters. Parameters
    now have a consistent naming scheme and access methods.
  * Simplified definition of constructors in the object system.
  * Improved object system performance.
  * Native support for SRFI-9 records and define-struct.
  * Made strange symbol writing/reading syntax more sane.
  * New extensible type system, which S2J, SRFI-9, and the
    SISC Object System plug into.
  * Partial redesign of some of S2J and generic-procedures for a cleaner
    API.
  * Separated character and binary IO, and added character set support
    to the former.
  * Added serial-io module for stream serialization of SISC values.
  * Added thunk libraries and deprecated compiled-libs, as the latter
    had semantic problems and the former are much simpler and often
    faster/smaller.
  * Numerous bug fixes, including a space leak in rare cases.
