srfi-1 iota

The reference implementation of SRFI-1 (the one that
uses let-optionals, and is still on the web) allows
(iota count start), with step defaulting to 1. That
usage is not implied by the SRFI text, but other
Schemes (for example guile and Chicken) allow it
(presumably because they use the ref. implementation).
SISC apparently modified the ref. implementation to
eliminate let-optionals, and in the process disallowed
(iota count start). Was this intended ?
