unicode escape problems

1) "\u0000"" is somehow seen as a single string
(upto the third double-quote!). Somehow \u0000 causes
the next double-quote to be "eaten". Tested from the
command prompt of sisc-1.15.1. In contrast "\u0041"
terminates at the second double-quote as it should.

Similar problems appear for character literals
'#\u000

2) A bare, unquoted \u0041 is interpreted as the
variable A. The reader accepts unicode escapes even
outside string and character contexts.
