SISCweb performance

I've written a couple of simple apps to test SISCweb and everything seems to be working OK (it's fun way to write web apps!). But performance doesn't seem to be very good, even very simple requests seem to take too long. From my tests it looks like the response time depends on the complexity of the page I'm generating, so I guess the bottleneck is in transforming sxml into html.
