When you do that the console runs in a separate JVM and therefore uses
RMI to communicate with the component.

You need to deploy the console as a component. If you have access to the
daemon console in that machine then you can use the menu to start the
management console. 

Other way is to deploy the following description in the remote node:
#include "org/smartfrog/components.sf"
//DeployManagemen
#include "/org/smartfrog/services/management/components.sf"

sfConfig extends DeployManagement {
}

Another alternative is to go to your console, right click in the
component that you are interested in and get the Diagnostics report.
This will print all the attributes in that component, plus many other
things :-).

As Patrick suggested, we will remove the sfExport attribute in that
component. It can be useful to read management information.

I tried that : I did
# export DISPLAY=mymachine:0
# sfManagementConsole -h localhost
and I still get the same error.

Ok, that's what I thought too.

The console throws an exception, and displays nothing in the frame
where you normally have a JTable with the attributes of the component.
But there's no graphical error message, only a stack trace on stderr.
Maybe this could be made more user-friedly.
