v2.1Beta2 Starter Kit, and 4 Proposals submitted for JDP vote

The v2.1Beta2 release of the Jini Technology Starter Kit is now
available for testing and evaluation.  The primary purpose of this
release is to address security issues in a few of the draft
specifications that were included in the v2.1Beta release.  The
release is available for download here:

For the specification changes, Sun is submitting four more Proposals
covering both licensing and technical changes to four existing
specifications to the Jini Community(SM) for approval as Standards
under the Jini Community Decision Process (JDP).  Proposals 6 and 12
are revised versions of proposals with the same numbers that were
originally submitted in March but were later withdrawn.  Proposals 23
and 24 cover two specifications that were originally included in
Proposal 22 (as submitted in March) but were later removed.  The
