Ah, okay.  Well now that's a slightly different problem.  What we're
talking about now is a set of language bindings which _may_ require the
use of a different protocol back and forth from the space than the usual
JERI solution.

But the important driving issue here is the language and the
representation of a tuple.  The protocol is actually going to be the
least of your problems.
