It's all good

I apologize for my recent absence on the lists --
JavaOne last week and some work on our Apache
Proposal and other things got me backed up.

I was very happy, though, to see the discussion on
the lists and the diversity of voices and thoughts
and opinions being shared.

It seems like we have three primary things to reach
closure on (please correct me if you think I'm missing
something):

1) getting a clear understanding on how the three potential
web sites/areas weave together to provide a compelling picture
of Jini technology and the Jini Community. These 3 sites/areas
are: Apache (if our Proposal gets approved), the 'new'
Jini.org, and the new Jini Community area at Java.net
    (jini.dev.java.net)

2) an understanding of the Proposal being made to Apache.
Specifically, what is part of it, and how is it being
    positioned

3) what happens to the Jini Community Decision Process (JDP)
    and the Standard specifications

These are somewhat interrelated, but I'd like to start off
by tackling them independently. I'll follow-up with a separate
initial email on each to get us going.

And just to clarify, this is not meant to blunt discussions
on the list -- but I do think we're now in a position (based
both on where the list discussions got to, as well as some
time pressures we're under) to focus some discussion and make
the necessary decisions to reach closure and move forward.

thanks -Jim
