"Message Received" Thanks for all the feedback, interest, passion, suggestions, and comments on the new name choice. I believe Braintree has some support, but it *clearly* has it's vocal detractors as well. We'd like to proceed with this name to call for a vote in the Apache incubator project - so that we can get started. We've been at this naming thing for a while, and really need to move ahead with Apache to see if the gist of the Proposal has support to join the Apache Software Foundation in incubation. [Note: if you're interested, the Proposal was updated and is at: <http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/BraintreeProposal>] If we're approved as a project, we can start a dialogue (someone suggested a separate open mailing list to hold the discussion - probably a good idea) on potential new name choices. If that effort results in a name that has strong backing, I'd think we'd want to bring it to the general Jini Community to garner support, but it would also need to be championed by the project's committers to get approved by the Apache incubator Project Management Committee (PMC). If that's not clear and you have questions, please let me know. If you don't like this approach, I'd like to hear about that as well. thanks -Jim =========================================================================== To unsubscribe, send email to [email protected] and include in the body of the message "signoff JAVASPACES-USERS".
