Thanks for the information.

It looks like a topic for discussion.

If it were in the Washington DC Metro area I could come for sure. The
closer to home the more likely I could come. Denver, Colorado might work
also, since I am from there. JavaOne would work the best I think.

Anything in another country would be fun but I don't think I could get
my company to pay for it.

When? At least 3 - 6 months from now.

Topics:

Jini Patterns
Review of architectures used in applications built on Jini.
Future directions of River
Testing Jini
Monitoring of Jini systems
Methods of integrating Jini into JEE applications
Security and Jini
Jini and .NET integration
Case studies of projects using Jini.

Sponsorship:
In the past has there been a fee to attend in addition to sponsors? The
fee could offset some of the cost. The only sponsors I can think of are
the companies represented by those on this list. What if a sponsor could
host it on their premises?

Hi Brad,

When would you like it, where would you like it, when would you like it
announced?

And more questions:

(1) What sort of topics would you like to see?

(2) Given the move to Apache River, perhaps ApacheCon is a more
appropriate place for this stuff to go on?

(3) Maybe we should go back to doing something at JavaOne?

(4) Maybe we should do all of these? Or others?

(5) These things are not free - we'll need sponsors maybe, any
thoughts
on who we might approach etc?

Organization of JCM's has traditionally been done by Sun but times are a
changing and this sort of thing is one of many "janitor" tasks we all
need to worry about.

Input appreciated,

Dan.
