I'm really happy to see such interest in an
11th JCM. :-)

I think we could get to an agreement on good
location options (with, of course, our well known
requirements of being a cool place and having
outstanding beer choices :-) ). Portland, Denver,
Calgary, back to Belgium, etc. etc. would all
be great. Probably not worth continuing to vote/
petition for your favorite on the list at this point.

The other options discussed in this thread about
having an event/get together at the various other
Java and open source conferences are certainly
a "good thing"(TM) ;-) We've done some of that in
the past (for example, at past JavaOne's) and should
definitely consider expanding to ApacheCon, OSCON,
JavaPolis, etc. That can only continue to strengthen
and broaden our Community.

To have our own Jini Community Meeting (which
obviously is a different event, with it's own key value
to our Community), though, will require individuals
and companies to step up and invest passion,
energies, and potentially funds to make it happen.

I've helped with nine of the ten JCMs we've had, and
would be glad to help work with a group to pull it
off. I'd say we need a champion or champions to
provide the initial push, though. If you're interested
in discussing further - please feel free to contact me
offlist.

thanks -Jim
