JTAPI is only an API.

To use JTAPI with your USB softphone, you will need an implementation of
the API for your particular device. You can imagine that the JTAPI
implementation for a central office switch will be different than for a
VoIP phone system. If the manufacturer does not have a JTAPI
implementation, then you need to look elsewhere. Both GJTAPI and XTAPI
are extendable frameworks that make it easier to write such an
implementation, but that doesn't mean anyone has done it yet.
