Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: XDT-1437
Summary: Value objects have a possible deadlock.
Type: Bug
Status: Open
Priority: Minor
Original Estimate: Unknown
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: XDoclet
Components:
EJB Module
Versions:
1.3
Assignee: Matthias Germann
Reporter: Tyler Ward
Created: Fri, 17 Jun 2005 9:52 AM
Updated: Mon, 1 Aug 2005 7:59 AM
Environment: any.
Description:
The Ejb value objects can be synchronized, to guarantee consistency. If the compareTo or equals methods are synchronized, then when hasIdentity is called, it acquires a lock on the other object. This is a possible deadlock situation, but it is VERY rare.
I have a patch in hand to fix this issue (as well as other minor value object based issues), but need to know if I should add it to this release.
Let me know if I should submit the patch, or wait until after 1.3
