[ http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/xdoclet/browse/XDT-1196?page=comments#action_17267 ] Paul Galbraith commented on XDT-1196: ------------------------------------- I've been thinking a bit about this...what do you think of specifying the generated mapping file in a @hibernate.mapping attribute at the top of the file. I prefer this approach as it doesn't mean constantly rehacking the subtask code everytime we come up with a new trigger to cause a new file to be generated...and it would be very flexible. Thoughts? > support having individual hbm.xml files for subclasses > ------------------------------------------------------ > > Key: XDT-1196 > URL: http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/xdoclet/browse/XDT-1196 > Project: XDoclet > Type: Improvement > Components: Hibernate Module > Reporter: Bill Schneider > Assignee: xdoclet-devel (Use for new issues) > Attachments: hibernate-child.xdt, hibernate-class.xdt, subclass.patch > > Original Estimate: 6 hours > Remaining: 6 hours > > It would be nice if there were some way to configure XDoclet's Hibernate module to create separate .hbm.xml files for subclasses, as is now permitted by Hibernate. > Right now, if you have @hibernate.class in A.java and @hibernate.subclass in B.java, you get a single A.hbm.xml file with a nested <subclass> element inside A's <class> element. > Instead, I'd like to get a separate hbm.xml file for B (<hibernate-mapping> <subclass name="B" extends="A" > ...) > My company has developed our own *.xdt templates to do exactly that, along with some custom subtasks to point at them, to simplify build.xml. We'd like to see this implemented inside the standrad solution, though, and would like to get feedback on how to proceed. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://opensource.atlassian.com/projects/xdoclet/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
