Performance problems

The number of tasks and user stories has grown quite large as our 
dependence on XPlanner has grown.  We are now encountering pretty serious 
performance issues.  We noticed that our project page executes nearly 298 
queries for every page view.  Does anyone have any performance tips they'd 
like to offer?
