You are receiving this message because you are listed as the administrator for a project hosted on SourceForge.net, the xwt project. Our standard service offering permits your project to place up to 100 MB of content in project web space (managed from the project shell servers). At this time, your project is consuming more than 100 MB of space, so we are sending you this note. Disk consumption as of the week of 2004-03-15 was: 827048 MB If we previously extended the quota for your project, we would like you to contact us again at this time and provide details of how your project is using the disk space we provide. This information will be retained (we have a new way of keeping track of this data, as of a couple months ago) and will be used as we consider new service offerings. If this is the case, send an email to [email protected] within the next 14 days (by 2004-03-29) with subject: Prior assignment of disk for project xwt If you were not given prior permission to use more disk than our standard offering provides, you must contact us regarding this matter. We are interested to know how much disk space your project needs on the project shell/web servers, and how that disk space is being used. We review requests for higher quotas on a case-by-case basis. Please send an email to [email protected] within the next 14 days (by 2004-03-29) with the subject: Request for increased quota for project xwt A few notes on uses of project shell/web disk space: 1. Data backups should be stored offsite, not on the project shell and web servers. Personal content (i.e. image galleries, etc.) should not be placed in project web space. 2. Files being transferred to the Compile Farm no longer need to go through the project shell servers; as of early 2004, we now permit SSH directly to the Compile Farm shell server, allowing you to transfer files directly. 3. We encourage projects to make use of our project database service rather than using flat files for data storage (in the case of content management systems, bulletin boards, forums, etc. which are operated from project web space). 4. Numbered file releases (which are not snapshots) should be released via the File Release System on the SourceForge.net site. We provide some leniency regarding nightly snapshots at this time, but still should be notified in advance if additional disk is required. In the case of nightly snapshots, we expect you to keep no more than a few snapshots around. We look forward to the continued hosting of your project. Similar notices are being sent to all of the projects which are above our quota threshold; these notices are semi-automated. Again, we ask that you contact us within the next 14 days as to avoid further action regarding your project's disk usage. It is important that we understand the resource requirements of your project and how your project is using the resources we provide as that we can continue to provide these services.
