As fun as it sounds, can we stick to stuff that Just Works (tm). We've spent a lot of time with Ibex already implementing fun and different things. We need to concentrate on getting things to a releasable stage so Ibex can be taken seriously. I'm not saying this won't work, but we need to settle on something that can be used to develop with. I've already implemented a working, usable grid layout (patches are on ct.com/darcs/ibex) and next will have to make non-packed layout work properly. After that I'm just concentrating on getting a set of usable widgets (most of the underlying library work is now complete). The problem with Ibex and XWT is that it's cool. This makes people interested but it makes us lot interested in adding cool stuff. Enough cool stuff please. We're already cool enough. Let's make it work and get a community of people using it, then we can pack the following stable release with all this extra cool stuff. I know we'll have to deal with some boring bits in the process (how long has the error reporting bug been open and p1?) but if we want to ever be taken seriously then we have to produce a defining product. -- - Charlie Charles Goodwin <[email protected]> Online @ http://www.charlietech.com
