Yeah, this is the big problem.  I'm generally open minded, but I've
never seen anybody come up with a complete specification for a
weighted voting system that didn't involve some hand-waving.

This is reasonable.  AFAIK, I think the FSF works similarly; I know
RMS has special magical powers to remove people from the gcc steering
committee simply because his name is "Richard Stallman".  People are
cool with this because he's devoted almost two decades of his life to
the ideal of free software; we know he's not going to sell out.

OTOH, I don't think we need to cross this bridge just yet -- the
author of a widget keeps the copyright, so long as s/he LGPLs it.  If
we can agree on that much, I don't think (at least as far as the
widgets are concerned) there's anything that really needs to be voted
on...

The engine is another matter.  I'd just like to keep the licensing
discussions seperate; I think the widgets licensing situation is
pretty simple and straightforward.
