Elaborate please. ^C/^V are hotkeys for the Main Menu's Edit/Copy and Edit/Paste. If menu were not reachable from the keyboard, the hotkeys still let you get at the functions. The problem with hotkeys is that there simply aren't enough (sane) key combinations to hotkey everything, and then you're stuck trying to remember a bazillion key combinations. That's why Menu activates when alt is pressed and released on its lonesome. then the standard cursor keys let you move around the menus and select items whether they have a hotkey or not.
