Thanks, this makes my life a lot easier. At the moment I've got a linux 
binary remote X'ing its way over here, but the colour maps are a mess. 
Which is weird, considering none of my other remote X programs have any 
trouble (vmware, vim, lyx, etc).

Trying to make it work now (gcc is huge).
