niwi widgets vs. reference doc

Should the niwi widgets be (theoretically) using facilities documented 
in http://www.xwt.org/reference.html? Are discrepencies between the two 
bugs in one or the other? For example, textfield.xwt has an <import> 
tag, but that tag is never mentioned in the reference.
