Yeah, just the docs would sort of _drive_ development.  "This is what
we're doing etc."  It would also allow others to get involved without
doing research into widget behaviour.

Yes, that is a good point.

I'm playing with the engine now, I hope to make the first few commits
over the weekend and we'll move from there.
