Not sure. At least the wallpaper, screensaver settings, and some of the 
settings for KPPP. For some even more obscure reason, while some of the 
settings for KPPP reverted to defaults that I've never had enabled for more 
than five minutes, some other settings (like the name of my dialup account) 
reverted to settings I've been using a few months ago, that shouldn't even 
have been present on my machine. Perhaps the ReiserFS journal screwed up 
somehow. But then I'm using the stock kernel, so it should be fine.

All of the problems I had with SuSE were duplicated by Arno Luppold, who may 
or may not still be on this list. So I don't think it was my incompetence or 
bad luck.

nope. never on this installation anyway.

only in /opt and /usr/local, and never libraries.
