No more than the US is anti-european (thing about that for a while). No the EU is pro-european. It should only protect european interests. The only time we would need to stand up to the US is when european and american interest should conflict. Both being mostly free and -democratic organisations, it hopefully doesnt happen too often. But attacking european space-projects in orbit would be such a time, and making sure the US retracts such a comment would help attitudes not to slide so that it would.
