However, I suspect the technically correct answer would be GNU since it is part of the overall GNU System not an addition. I'd imagine GNU/Hurd will be prefered though so as not to confuse anyone with GNU/Linux (for instance, one argument I read against RMS was ranting that RMS had gone so far as to call Linux simply GNU. In reality, he was referring to the GNU system seperate from a particular kernel, but many people might assume "GNU" means GNU/Linux anyway.) Like GNU/Linux, I suspect this depends on what you are referring to: The Hurd: use this when referring to the kernel alone. GNU/Hurd: use this when referring to the entire OS. GNU: use this when referring to the GNU system independent of the kernel. Likewise... Linux: use this when referring to the kernel alone. GNU/Linux: use this when referring to the entire OS.
