I just assumed that the reason it's been so long since the proprietary drivers have been updated was because they were discontinued to be replaced by open source drivers written outside ATI. But apparently not. I was also under the impression that there are open source Radeon drivers ready and waiting to be released with the next release of XFree86. -- Dan.
