Err... Stupid KMail

Hi everyone,
   Any one familiar with some kind of bug in KMail that could cause it
to lose all of its settings (including filters and accounts)? Last night
my system locked up while I was shutting down KMail and when I came back
online today, all of my accounts, dozens of filters, and all of my
settings were just gone. Apparently the same thing happened recently on
my laptop, because I went into KMail on it (which I normally don't do
since I want to keep my mail on my desktop), and the settings were all
gone there as well.

    Needless to say that was horrible. On the bright side, it did give
me the motivation to give Ximian Evolution a real spin (something I had
wanted to do but it sounded like to much work because of all of my
filters, etc.). So far, I still prefer KMail in some respects, although
searching is so much faster it isn't funny -- I can search 27,000+
message subjects in about three seconds vs. about three to five minutes.

    I wish Evolution integrated better into KDE, but I think I'll live
with that for now... its really quite nice.
