That's actually the first real lockup (as opposed to a process gone bezerk) I've had since leaving SuSE. Best I can tell, something went wrong when shutting down Win4Lin (working on a PowerPoint presentation -- a necessary evil until OO.o's PowerPoint filter displays things perfectly) that killed the system. Since Win4Lin has a kernel module that helps it function, I guess Win4Lin could directly kill the system... I'm not sure if that's the case. At any rate, KMail lost everything. :-\ For now, it's for the better though.
