I haven't checked the source, but AFAICT, presumably as a result of poor design, all KDE apps seem to lose settings if they're interrupted while writing to config files. The simplest solution is to use a less buggy distribution that doesn't lock up at random, like for example anything other than Mandrake. -- Dan.
