There are two basic types of flat screens: 1. Those with a light behind them. 2. Those that produce light with phosphor (like a CFT). The second which is commonly and incorrectly called a plasma display is much better but probably not generally available yet and TVs that use it are rather (!) expensive. Resolution is VERY important because the flat screen actually has pixels on it you need to buy one with the resolution that you want to use. There are also two ways to connect them to the computer: 1. Analog (works with any VGA type connection) 2. Digital (requires a Video card with the special output connector) Digital is better.
