To make my comments below absolutely clear, this is a paraphrase of what was 
written by Tim Butler in the Open Choice Awards article.

Well, OfB.biz is a site written for businesses who are considering switching 
over to Linux from these platforms, as opposed to individuals. I don't think 
businesses generally base their choice of software on the preferences of 
their employees, rather on the total cost of ownership, and the effectiveness 
with which their tasks may be carried out.

Of course, user preferences come into play in both areas, but do not play such 
an important role as for an individual.

I'm not sure that what Tim writes is an accurate reflection of the overall 
attitude of KDE :).
