Please use google to get some information about x-rays: most likely you then will think about either purchasing an LCD screen or stop having such a young child in front of a CRT. You might also want to take into account that there is no certain knowledge about the effect of screen flicker on a child's brain. Probably your CRT runs at least 90Hz, right? OK, sounds fine, but even if it runs at 100Hz this does not really make a difference, please read here: http://yourhealth.sih.net/HealthNews/reuters/NewsStory0123200322.htm As a result of both the 'invisible' flicker problem and the x-rays we gave all of our screens away to relatives whom we know to spend only few time in front of their computers and now we use LCDs only. Then we replaced the old TV set by a 15" LCD operated by an old PC with a simple TV card. Of course these changes did cost a few Euro, but other things cost as well - and are less worth spending the money on.
