Yep, this problem is known as well, the problem is that those small dirt particles waving around in the air everywhere (and normally not causing much trouble) get a rapid boost when traversing the front of a CRT: they quickly move in 90° rirection away from the tube and - unfortunately - this normally results in they flying directly onto the face of the people sitting in front of the screen. This results in lots of bad consequences of course: human faces don't like to be 'bombed' by little dirt particles. > Anyway...
