I found that after upgrading to the beta rpm's in Mandrake, everybody's mail 
server rejected me because they didn't understand the messages I was 
sending :-)

I looked in the KMail settings and there is something called "Message 
Property", which could be either "Allow 8 bit" or "Mime compliant". It was on 
8 bit, I changed it to Mime compliant and everything started working for me. 
Not sure what it did, but it worked :-)
