The problem is that currently, "increasing MPG standards" means telling people what 
vehicles that they are allowed to buy.  The idea of Hydrogen cars is also to reduce air 
pollution (questionable) and CO2 production (atomic power required to produce the Hydrogen).

That wasn't my point which was that both parties have done nothing realistic to produce a 
more efficient and low pollution vehicle -- I am criticizing both parties.
