I've got the same situation here: ran the installer, but there is no 
/usr/local/qt
The installer seems to have put *one* framework in /Library/Frameworks/ 
but that is really the only change I could see, after poking for a 
bit.....

After the gcc upgrade, run sudo gcc_select 3.3 to be on the safe side.
